The Roofing Alliance has announced the 2023-24 Most Valuable Player Awards finalists. The winners will be announced Feb. 7 during NRCA’s Awards Ceremony and Cocktail Reception in Las Vegas.
MVP Awards formally recognize outstanding roofing workers who achieve work-related and personal goals to which others aspire. Workers employed by a Roofing Alliance member or an NRCA member roofing contracting, distributor or manufacturer firm are eligible. From roofing contracting firms, any roofing field worker, foreman or superintendent can be nominated, and from distributor and manufacturer firms, any warehouse employee, warehouse foreman, driver or equipment operator can be nominated.
The 2024 MVP Awards finalists include:

- Jose Escobar, superintendent, Centimark Corporation, Houston
- Daniel Gochenauer, foreman, GSM Roofing, Ephrata, Pa.
- Obed Hernandez, foreman, Wagner Roofing Company, Hyattsville, Md.
- Luis Villalta, field worker, Antis Roofing & Waterproofing LLC, Irvine, Calif.
- Gerardo Rodriguez, superintendent, Nations Roof, Villa Park, Ill.
The 2024 MVP Honorable Mention recipients include:
- Jesus Andres, superintendent, Madsen Roofing & Waterproofing Inc., Sacramento, Calif.
- Kevin Buchanan, equipment operation, OMG Roofing Products, Agawam, Mass.
- Alejandro Garcia Hernandez, superintendent, Bliss Roofing Inc., Clackamas, Ore.
- Samuel Pichardo, foreman, Rike Roofing Services Inc., Fort Mill, S.C.
- Tony Poblete, superintendent, Wagner Roofing Company, Hyattsville
- Blas Vega, field worker, MGC Roofing & Construction Inc., Sanford, Fla.
Professional Roofing’s Best of the Best Award winner also will be announced Feb. 7 during NRCA’s Awards Ceremony and Cocktail Reception; the recognition is co-sponsored by OMG Roofing Products and Professional Roofing magazine.
