Abstract
The roofing industry has raised questions concerning the occurrence and accumulation of condensation on the underside of single ply roof membranes. This concern was identified by roofing contractors who found water entrpapped on the underside of loose laid, single ply membranes when they were performing service calls. The NRCA has requested that SPRI respond to the concerns voiced by the industry. This paper will address the phenomenon of moisture accumulation and migration as it relates to insulated roof systems. Lets first examine the ways moisture infiltrates a roofing system.
