Abstract
A 2013-2014 telephone survey study of licensed roofing contractors (phase 1) found that corrosion is commonly observed on electrogalvanized fasteners in the field. A 2014-2015 experimental study (phase 2) tested the corrosion performance of electrogalvanized 1 ¼ inch roofing coil nails. The 2015-2016 experimental study (phase 3) tested electrogalvanized, electroplated, mechanically galvanized, hot dipped, stainless steel, and ceramic coated fastener. This article presents the results of the phase 3 testing on 370 specimens.
