CPWR—The Center for Construction Research and Training has made available new online resources to address suicide prevention.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, suicide kills nearly three times as many construction workers as falls do each year. In fact, the CDC reports the construction industry is the No. 1 industry for number of suicides and No. 2 industry in suicide rates.
CPWR has made available Hazard Alert: Preventing Suicide Prevention in Construction in English and Spanish; Toolbox Talk: Suicide Prevention in Construction in English and Spanish; and infographics about starting a conversation and reaching out, which also are available in English and Spanish.
