On May 1, the Department of Labor launched its Mental Health at Work initiative in recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month.
The purpose of the initiative is to advance wellness in the workforce by reducing stigma and increasing awareness of mental health and well-being within workplaces; promoting best practices and compliance by employers; and promoting mental health equity and access, especially for marginalized and vulnerable populations.
The initiative includes a new webpage, which offers resources for workers; tools and tips to help employers support workers’ mental health; and information about what employers are required to do by law, among other resources.
