The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates one in 10 people in the U.S. will get the flu in a given season, according to blog.dol.gov. Although viruses can live year-round, flu activity tends to rise in October and peak between December and February.
With COVID-19 a factor during this year’s flu season, the Department of Labor emphasizes it is even more important to take precautions to prevent the flu from spreading. DOL offers 10 tips for keeping workers safe, including recommending workers get vaccinated, encouraging workers to stay home when they are sick and educating workers regarding staying healthy.
