CPWR—The Center for Construction Research and Training will hold a webinar, Fall Prevention & Protection in the Roofing Industry, April 16 at noon CDT.
Panel presenters will include Tom Shanahan, CAE, NRCA vice president of enterprise risk management and executive education; Harry Dietz, NRCA director of enterprise risk management; and Rich Trewyn, NRCA director of enterprise risk management.
Falls are the leading cause of death in construction, but roofing workers are at an even greater risk of falling than those in other trades. In 2017, roofing workers experienced more than 10 times the fatality rate of all construction occupations combined. During this one-hour webinar, participants will learn about some of the specific considerations roofing contractors and workers must take into account when planning, training and executing fall-prevention measures, as well as what to do if a fall occurs on the job site.
