As Congress considers further legislative responses to address the COVID-19 pandemic, NRCA urges all members to reach out to their members of Congress to advocate for the inclusion of a home and commercial buildings improvement tax credit.
The Home Improvement and Commercial Infrastructure Tax Credit would provide a 30% “home improvement tax credit” for improvements to residences for qualifying taxpayers. In addition, the proposal provides a 30% tax credit for investment in commercial infrastructure, such as improvements to nonresidential roofs and other building components.
The tax credit is designed to assist with economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic by helping unemployed workers return to work and stimulating demand for construction activity.
