NRCA member donates materials for veteran’s home remodel

NRCA member ABC Supply Co. Inc., Beloit, Wis., recently donated siding and roofing materials for the remodel of a Wisconsin veteran’s home.

The Strum, Wis., home of U.S. Army and Marine Corps veteran Steve Wojcik was remodeled through “Military Makeover,” a TV show that provides free home remodels to deserving veterans and their families. The episode will air on the Lifetime network Nov. 8 at 7:30 a.m. EST/PST.

Wojcik served in the armed forces for 20 years and was given an honorable discharge and medical retirement in 2005 after suffering serious injuries in Iraq. For his service, he has been awarded a Purple Heart, Meritorious Service Medal and National Defense Service Medal. Wojcik, who now works as a Wisconsin State Trooper, was nominated by a co-worker for “Military Makeover.”

A team of ABC Supply associates also helped the “Military Makeover” crew and community volunteers with the renovation project.

“Through his time in the military and now as a state trooper, Steve has done so much to serve his country and community,” said Mike Jost, vice president and COO of ABC Supply. “American Pride is one of ABC Supply’s Core Values, and we can’t think of a better way to live it than by helping a deserving military family like the Wojciks remodel their home.”

Wojcik shares his home with wife, Terri, and their three teenage daughters. The episode featuring the family was filmed from Sept. 23 to Oct. 3 and is hosted by Montel Williams, who also is a military veteran. After Nov. 8, the episode will be available to watch at militarymakeover.tv.
