National Women in Roofing has announced the recipients of its 2020 NWIR Day and International Roofing Expo® Network of Educating Women Scholarships; the scholarships are for first-time attendees to NWIR Day, the 2020 IRE and NRCA’s 133rd Annual Convention in Dallas.
The program is designed to encourage first-time attendees who work for contractors to experience the benefits of professional development in the roofing industry; attendance at these events can influence one’s career trajectory and benefit not just the attendee but her company and employer.
The 2020 recipients are Xochitl Arango, The Roofing Lady, Long Beach, Calif., and Tammy Johns, T Johns Construction, Oklahoma City.
Scholarship benefits include attendance at NWIR Day, NRCA’s Industry Awards Ceremony and Cocktail Reception, a pass to the trade show and a Super Pass to education sessions; hotel accommodations; roundtrip airfare; and a host/mentor assigned through the NWIR mentoring program.
NWIR Day will be held Sunday, Feb. 2, in Dallas.
