Questions for NRCA’s CEO

December 22, 2021

What is the most important lesson you learned this year?

I always felt it, but watching it happen in real time was simply the affirmation—roofing contractors are resilient. Faced with unprecedented labor and material shortages, contractors throughout the country found ways to meet their customers in their most important need. It was a bumpy road filled with frustration, to be sure. But it was also a marvel to watch.

What is one good thing you see for the roofing industry in 2022?

Demand continues to be robust in most parts of the country. Backlogs are long. This bodes well for 2022. Although headwinds are in place and at some point things will slow down, right now, long backlogs carry the day.
