The Roofing Alliance will host five finalist teams to compete in the final part of its 10th anniversary Construction Management Student Competition. The oral presentations will take place Feb. 7 at the 2024 International Roofing Expo® in Las Vegas.
The five teams that will present are Auburn University, Auburn Ala.; Bradley University, Peoria, Ill..; Colorado State University, Fort Collins; Texas A&M University, College Station; and University of Florida, Gainesville.
This year, the teams were tasked with submitting a qualified bid package for a new roof system on the Formula 1 Paddock Building in Las Vegas. Teams researched the chosen project; submitted a qualified bid package proposal; and will provide an oral presentation to illustrate their roofing, project management, estimating and safety knowledge.
The winning teams will be announced during NRCA’s Awards Ceremony and Cocktail Reception Feb. 7 at the 2024 IRE in Las Vegas.
The first-place team will receive a team trophy, a $5,000 L.B. Conway scholarship for their school and individual awards. The second-place team will receive a team trophy, a $2,500 Fred Good scholarship for their school and individual awards. The third-place team will receive a $1,000 scholarship for their school and individual awards. The first-place Best Individual Student Presenter will receive a $300 gift card, and the second-place Best Individual Student Presenter will receive a $200 gift card.
All winners will receive recognition in Professional Roofing magazine, among other promotions.
