The Roofing Alliance has announced seven schools will participate in its 2021 Construction Management Student Competition.
The Roofing Alliance’s student competition promotes careers in roofing industry management. In addition to providing a significant learning opportunity, the competition fosters an environment that will bring out the best in each team; encourage dialogue among the students; and foster team spirit as students rise to meet the challenge. It features teams of four college and university students testing their roofing, project management, estimating, safety, quality control and presentation skills.
The Roofing Alliance is pleased to announce the following seven schools have indicated their intent to participate in the seventh annual student competition:
- Auburn University—McWhorter School of Building Science, Auburn, Ala.
- California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo
- Clemson University, Clemson, S.C.
- Colorado State University, Department of Construction, Fort Collins
- Kennesaw State University, Marietta, Ga.
- Texas A&M University, College Station
- University of Florida, M.E. Rinker, Sr. School of Building Construction, Gainesville
The teams’ written proposals are due Feb. 8. Competition judges will review the proposals, and five finalist teams will be announced the week of March 8. Finalist teams will present virtually the week of April 5; the oral presentations will be recorded and shared on Facebook once all teams have presented. Winners will be announced in a virtual event April 16.
