North American Roofers Insurance IC, Burlington, Vt., and Robert and Kathleen McNamara, Oconomowoc, Wis., have joined the Roofing Alliance. North American Roofers Insurance joined at the Service Provider level, and Robert and Kathleen McNamara joined at the Individual level.
Founded in 2007, North American Roofers Insurance is a national risk management and insurance program for commercial roofers owned and controlled by its participating members. NARI’s value proposition to its members is a level of ownership, transparency, accountability and control of insurance and risk management resources not available anywhere else in the marketplace. NARI delivers on this value proposition for members through a captive insurance company to implement risk-taking strategies and facilitate the return of underwriting profits and investment income to its members.
Robert McNamara has been active in the Roofing Alliance since his father, Donald McNamara, F.J.A. Christiansen Roofing Co. Inc., Milwaukee, joined the Roofing Alliance in 1996. McNamara’s service includes Roofing Alliance president from 2014-15, The Roofing Industry Alliance for Progress Steering Committee, the Finance and Financial Development Committee and the Board of Trustees.
The Roofing Alliance was established within the National Roofing Foundation in 1996 to create an endowment fund to serve as a resource for the roofing industry and its customers.
Since its inception, Roofing Alliance members have committed more than $13.3 million to fund research, educational and technical projects such as educational partnerships with some of the country’s top construction management schools to expose college students to roofing as a career choice; sponsorship of a national construction management student design competition; national survey of roofing workers; and helping to develop NRCA ProCertification,™ a nationally recognized worker training program that will include 30 training disciplines and a series of certifications participants can earn to develop a career path. The Roofing Alliance also supports philanthropic outreach, including its partnership with Ronald McDonald House Charities© to maintain the roofs of the 165 standalone Ronald McDonald Houses in the U.S.
To make the Roofing Alliance work, member participation is vital, and the Roofing Alliance offers different levels of membership to encourage firms of all sizes to join and have a voice in determining the roofing industry’s future.
