Support ROOFPAC at NRCA’s 135th Annual Convention and the 2022 International Roofing Expo®

NRCA will partner with National Women in Roofing to host “Salute to the Big Easy,” a cocktail reception and live auction Jan. 31. Held at The American Sector Restaurant and Bar at The National WWII Museum from 4-7 p.m., guests can bid on vacations, artwork and more. Click here register for this fun-filled event.

NRCA also will host its popular silent auction benefiting ROOFPAC. A variety of jewelry, trips, electronics and more will be available for bidding. Participants can view and place bids on silent auction items electronically by visiting www.roofpac22.givesmart.com. Attendance at the convention and trade show is not required to place bids.

NRCA is grateful for many generous sponsors who help underwrite the costs of these events so all proceeds may directly benefit ROOFPAC. Thank you!

Congress moves slowly heading into the midterm elections

We have no quantifiable updates on the status of the Build Back Better Act other than it will not go anywhere soon. The last major update was Dec. 19, 2021, when Sen. Manchin (D-W.Va.) clearly stated his position regarding the legislation: “Despite my best efforts, I cannot explain the sweeping Build Back Better Act in West Virginia and I cannot vote to move forward on this mammoth piece of legislation.”

Two Senate incumbents announce bids for reelection

During the past weekend, Sens. John Thune (R-S.D.) and Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) announced bids for reelection. Both senior senators have supported the roofing industry during their careers, and we wish them well in what will be a long year in a highly contentious race for control of the upper chamber.

Glory, glory to old Georgia!

The University of Georgia beat powerhouse University of Alabama in the college football national championship earlier this week. The last time Georgia won the top spot was in 1981 when current Senate candidate Hershel Walker was a freshman. Congratulations to all our Georgia friends and condolences to the Roll Tide nation. Don’t worry—Coach Saban will attempt to avenge this injustice next year.
