Abstract
This article deals with the effects of certain substances on modified biutmen material. The addition of polymers provides the bitumen with vastly improved physical properties. However, they cannot necessarily guarantee the bitumen a full resistance that it may lack by itself towards certain corrosive chemicals. This subject was initially discussed upon the author's recommendation at ARMA's Modified Bitumen Committee Meeting on 03/06/91. Since then, ARMA has been in the process of preparing a Techical Bulletin and is planning on publishing it in early Spring 1992.
