Abstract
A solid understanding of Underwriters Laboratories (UL) and Factory Mutualy (FM) fire ratings is essential to proper roof specification. The use of UL classifications and FM approvals for single-ply roofiong materials is subject to substantial confusion, misunderstanding and some misrepresentation in the marketplace. This article attempts to give to straight answers on fire-rating of roofs.
