Abstract
About to head out to do a roof survey when the wind suddenly starts to bluster and the clouds roll in? Hmm. Better grab that raincoat and check your lightning alert app. You might not mind getting a little wet-that's part of the job-but thunderstorms can be dangerous and even deadly. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAf\), lightning kills an average of 49 people a year in the United States.
