Abstract
Expansion joints are dependent on the roofing system, the detail conditions, and drainage requirements. Good design and careful detail consideration are key when dealing with expansion joint design. Ultimately, the test of an expansion joint is its ability to remain waterproof and perform under different building movement conditions over time. This article describes various methods, use and application of expansion joints.
