Eligibility Requirements
- A minimum of 24 months' experience installing various architectural metal flashings and accessories on steep- or low-slope roofs, including but not limited to coping systems, fascia systems, edge-metal profiles, counterflashing profiles, metal valley flashings, gutter profiles, and head-and-sidewall flashings. Field work installing sheet metal in other construction and service industries may be deemed applicable toward the experience requirement at the discretion of the NRCA Certification Exams Committee.
- Most recent experience must be within the past 12 months.
- Before or after applying for certification, you must pass an online low-slope or steep-slope multiple-choice exam.
- Work experience, skills and knowledge must be validated by your employer.
ProCertification Eligibility Exam
You must pass an eligibility exam before scheduling a hands-on performance exam.

- Exam results are valid for 12 months
All applicants are automatically registered for the eligibility exam when they apply for ProCertification. It also is available free to members and nonmembers who have not yet submitted an NRCA ProCertification application.
